Alieu M. Sesay wins back to back monthly golf mock
As sports gradually impacts young people in the country, an iconic golf player in the amateur category, Mr. Alieu M. Sesay, on Saturday, November 16 this year won the prestigious ‘November Monthly Mock’ with two under par at the Freetown Golf Club, along Beach Road in Lumley in the west of Freetown.
Speaking to this Reporter, he said that he was very delighted to win another monthly mock as it tells everybody that he is rapidly improving.
Alieu M. Sesay defeated his nearest rivals Reverend Sorie Kargbo and Mr. Hector Macauley who were positioned 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Mr. Sesay said that he was thankful to God for supporting him spiritually and making him successful. He said he has dedicated the trophy to his wife, Madam Kadie Sesay who recently returned home from England.
He said that his wife has been helpful to him in diverse ways and that by dedicating the trophy to her will teach other men to love, respect and share honour with their wives.
As the current Champion of the October and November monthly mock as well as Champion of the Amateur “B” 2011 Golf Open in Sierra Leone, he assured Sierra Leoneans that during the 2013 Golf Open, he will retain the trophy.
“I am currently on top of my training sessions and I am optimistic that the 2013 Golf Open is expected to be a success for me,” Mr. Alieu Sesay stated.
He maintained that he is very confident that a Sierra Leonean will win the gold prize at the upcoming international competition.
He appealed to all Sierra Leoneans to support their Golfers when the Golf Open commences from November 26 to December 1 this year.
