Envoy Advocates Girl Child Education in Sierra Leone
The South Africa Consul- General for Sierra Leone, Madam Aminata Kallay, has stressed the need to promote the girl child education in the country so as to produce productive and responsible women that can benefit our society.
The envoy further emphasized that the education of women is tantamount to the education of a nation as educated women can interact better with their counterparts to bring development to the nation.
Madam Kallay was addressing the Church of God Secondary School in Makeni recently. She recognized and lauded the Methodist Mission for its commitment in improving education in many deprived communities in Sierra Leone. “The contribution of the Methodist Church to the development of education in this country cannot be over emphasized; for decades the church has been playing pivotal role in the provision of other essential services for Sierra Leoneans,” she concluded.
