President Yahya Jammeh Again -“Thank God it’s Thursday”

The President of the West African State of The Gambia, Dr. Yahya AJJ Jammeh has once again taken his people by what most of them described as ‘2013 bash surprise’ by announcing through the National Broadcaster that effective February 1st 2013 government working days in the week has been cut down from five to four (from Monday to Friday to Monday to Thursday).  (Photo: President Yahya Jammeh of The Gambia)

According to the President, whom most of his subjects referred to as “PAPA DON’T TAKE NO MESS”  The Gambia is predominantly  a Muslim state but that the Christians have a day (Sunday) specially set aside for them to worship, and that the Jews also have Saturday to worship their God, but for the Muslims that are in the majority they have to go to work and then have the strain to break off to observe their Friday 2 o’ clock prayers.

This ratio, President Jammeh observed is not fairly done. The Muslims (of which he is one) must also have a day set aside for them to equally worship Allah. He said the working hours from Monday to Thursday will be extended to 6 p.m., thus making time for the hours lost on Friday.

When asked what would the people do on such a long weekend (Friday to Sunday), he replied “they will take advantage of the time to go to their farms.”

As of now, President Yahya Jammeh has spoken and the people of The Gambia can only sing “Thank God it’s Thursday.”
