Tongo community express thanks to Kenema District Council

The people of Tongo community in the Lower Barbara chiefdom Kenema District have given their thanks and appreciation to the Kenema District Council for implementing developmental activities in their communities.

Outlining some of the developmental activities that have been implemented in the chiefdom by the Kenema District Council in collaboration with NaCSA and rural private sectors,includes Health Center rehabilitation, a cool room, Court Barray, schools and teaching materials, fenced mini stadium in Tongo field, construction of type B market in Lowoima ,a community centre , and also a clean spring drinking water dam.

Speaking to a fish monger in the community, Aminata Vandy, she stated that the construction of the cool room has greatly solved the problem they used to have in preserving their fishes and cartons of chicken.  Now they will be able to keep them cool and the food will not get spoiled as before.  She said having to travel from Tongo to Kenema to preserve their goods was posing serious consequences on them, and now that Kenema District Council has constructed the cool room for them, being that it is unable for them to use, they are pleading to the Council to officially open it for them to use.

They also thanked the chief administrator Mr. Tamba Musa and the finance officer of the Kenema District Council, NaCSA, and the rural private sector for their tremendous support. The opportunity was also usee to appeal to the Council and SALWACO and Bo Kenema power services BKPS to restore the water pipes so that they can get unhindered supplies of facilities.
