Retired National Football Heroes to engage Eastern Veterans FC this weekend
In preparation for the Western African Veteran football competition to be hosted in Senegal, the Retired National Footballing Heroes will today engage their Eastern Veteran counterparts at the football academy, Kingtom.
The weekend match will be the third friendly match to be played by the national veteran team as they have already settled for a 1-1 draw with African Minerals Mining Company football team and lost 6-4 to FC Kallon team “B” side.
Speaking to the team captain of the Retired National Football Heroes, Joseph Toby, said the team is in good spirit and that the players have been doing well in previous friendly matches, adding that they are appealing to government, parastatals, business houses and individuals to support them financially so that they can make the trip.
“With the likes of Osaio Marah, Jeffrey Kabia, Okala gold finger, De Cox, Charles Wright, Junior Konneh, Gullit, Abu Sankoh, Brima Mazola Kamara, Tostao, A.D. Koroma, Ajamie Olaiah, Amidu Karim, Alhaji Paw Paw, Lobilo, Kemokai Kallon, Augustus Lawson and several others we can do well in our weekend match even though we are aware that our counterparts have a very solid squad,” he noted.
The match will be witnessed by Chairman Umaru Deen Sesay, King Kama Dumbuya and the entire executive, and will commence at 8:00 am prompt.
