Islamic Organizations to Mentor on Moral Values

The Dawa Islamic Organization in collaboration with Council of Imams in Sierra Leone and the Womens Organization for Education and Development has planned a three week camp for religious children in the Kenema District to mentor on religious doctrines.  This was disclosed by the Chairperson/Leader of the Womens Organization for Education and Development, Madam Haja Fatima Zarah Kamara.  (Photo: Mohammad Baqir al-Sadr, Founder of the Islamic Dawa Party)

Haja Fatima Kamara highlighted that camp is not a one-off event as it is being hosted occasionally in different parts of the country.

She underscored that the programme is a three weeks camp that is expected to train on basic moral values and other core Islamic practices for the girl child after which certificates will be issued out to participants at the end of the exercise.

She went further to criticize the rude and uncouth culture that our girls have imbibed such as putting on attire that exposes their nakedness and other ill-gotten mannerisms which she insisted must be stopped.

Haja Fatima Zarah Kamara noted that the task of training our children good morals must not be left in the hands of Government alone but also lies with the parents.

She thanked Dr. Mohamed Habib Sheriff of the Dawa Islamic Organization and the Council of Imams in Sierra Leone for attracting external support to ensure a successful camping event.
