NRA Beats November Target

The Kambia Collector of the National Revenue Authority (NRA) has assured this press that in spite of the November 17th Elections the authority was able to exceed its October- November targets.

Speaking to this press over the weekend at his Gbalamuya office, Mr. Malcolm Wilkinson noted that the NRA raised up to the tune of Le800 million as revenue collected at the Gbalamuya border post.

He commended the hierarchy of the Authority in Freetown for their unflinching support and further revealed that since he took over the border post nine months ago his target so far in the area of tax collection from various businesses has created a lot of impact.

He noted that NRA is working in line with institutions in Kambia to ensure that they build up mama Salone.

Wilkinson noted that the NRA in Kambia is the third largest revenue generating outfit for the Government while the Queen Elizabeth II Quay and the Lungi International Airport remains the first and second revenue generating points respectively.

He also commended the Immigration Department, Office of National Security, Port Health, the Police and other line institutions that are working for the general good of the country.

Mr. Malcom Wilkinson encourages business people to pay their taxes, adding that the Government depends largely on taxes.
