In Sierra Leone – Brand New VIP Helicopters in Town
Air Coach Express Ltd has become Sierra Leone’s newest air transport operator with the provision of scheduled airport transit connections and charter services to various parts of the country.
Air Coach Express recently launched its maiden fleet of two helicopters, expected to provide a safe and reliable service out of their base in Aberdeen and Lungi International Airport. Other available services include Airport Transit Connection. Air Coach Express will operate scheduled trips between the WFP Helipad in Aberdeen and Lungi Airport to meet the various airline passengers. This VIP service is provided with a 20 seater aircraft, the Mi8P, which makes the journey in less than 10 minutes to the scheduled destination.
Air Coach Express also provides Charter Services to the destinations around Sierra Leone and the aircraft offers an efficient and cost effective option to perform several other duties ranging from surveillance, Aerial Mapping, and general passenger movement.
The helicopter design is a strong and capable machine that is perfect for lower altitude operations, especially along the coastal region of Africa. The Mi8P is a twin engine machine which is capable of lifting 4,000kgs (8,800 Ibs) internally or 3,000kgs (6,600 Ibs) externally.
The spacious cabin can hold over-sized cargo or 22 passengers and the rear loading makes taking cargo on or off a cinch. The Mi8P has great field serviceability without the need for hangar or a large “sterile” environment.
The Mi2 is a lightweight, efficient and cost effective option for surveillance, passenger movement, aerial mapping, oilrig service or VIP transport. This twin helicopter can carry up to 8 passengers or 700 kg (1,540 lbs) internal 800 kg (1,760 lbs) external cargo.
Freetown based entrepreneur and proprietor Olusegun Jaji said his initiative is a back up of his successful Sea Coach Express operation that has salvaged the perennial sea transportation problem in Sierra Leone.
Tickets for airport connections are available at the Air Coach sales booth in the Lungi Airport Arrival Terminal and at the Freetown Helipad Departure Lounge in Aberdeen.
Tickets will also be available online and at many travel agencies and tour operators, i.e., IPC TRAVEL, LAMAR TRAVEL, LION TRAVEL, KARL TRAVEL, Visit Sierra Leone and many more.
