SLPP jubilates with invalid voter crowd in Kenema, Sierra Leone
The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has been identified as a frustrated and a disgruntled political party in Sierra Leone since they lost the governance affairs in the country. In what was seen the SLPP jubilated over invalid voters crowd on the 2rd November 2012 when the SLPP had their second political rally in the Kenema district which the SLPP used to call their political strong hold; the rally was filled with underage children and adults who have no voter ID card and who do not have any franchise in this election but only to join the party rally for merriment and to fill the gap of the fitted party members, the claimed die hearted people in Kenema and other categories of people who have to exercise their political franchise during voting day.
Speaking to a group of people who described themselves as SLPP party members who are disgruntled because of the current party formation, they told this press that the rally of SLPP was a mocking signal to the party, of which the party needs immediate active party arrangement before the polling day or else the Maada Bio team will have themselves to blame. The SLPP party big von who asked his name not to be disclosed, further maintained that the current SLPP executive members have totally messed up the party and he will pray for the elections to come to an end and make a concrete party formation.
Making comparative analysis over the SLPP campaign rally in Kenema and that of Bo, he said Kenema will fail Maada Bio during the polling day if the party continues to preach the message of segregation and harassment. He further called onto the party Chairman – John Oponjo Benjamin to immediately plead to Hon. Robin Falley and other political bigwigs that have recently defected to the All People Congress (APC).
Notwithstanding, a lot of Kenema people are preaching praise songs and congratulation messages to President Ernest Bai Koroma for the construction of all city roads, the electricity of Freetown which was considered once as the darkest city in the whole world during the SLPP time, the Free Health Care Services, the Kenema–Kailahun road, the Bo–Kenema high-way, the Matotoka-Kono highway, the Masiaka–Pamalap Guinea highway, the Kenema District Council Office and Guest House, the City Council Hall, the Burnt Kenema Government Hospital Maternity Ward, the ABC centers in all the chiefdom head quarter towns in the country and the small commercialization programme through IFAD funds called Financial Service Association Bank (FSA bank), the promotion of Human Rights in the country, the promotion of women and youths in the country, and the elimination of the country economy to the face of the international bodies.
According to the APC Chairman in the Eastern Region, Eric Solomon D. Musa, President Koroma will win this election hands down in the first round. Adding that the Kailahun people have decided to make a hand to hand march from Segbwema to Mano Junction as a thank you message to President Koroma. He again said that the former CDF have decided to support president Koroma for his good works in Kailahun district and the country as a whole. He also said he has decided to put hands in the former CDF activities since the SLPP was in governance, used and misused these former CDF members during the war and never assisted them and their families, he will plead to president Koroma to continue putting helping hands to these former CDFs.
Mr. Musa further revealed that the APC activities in the Eastern Region will create heart pressure for SLPP members before the voting day and the final NEC announcement of the Presidential result. He encouraged all party members to abide to the NEC laws, the constitution of the country, the Sierra Leone Police Force and other laws of the land for peaceful and transparent elections as president Koroma is always yearning for.
The APC regional chairman, Eric Solomon D. Musa said, yes, people sometimes claim the Eastern region as a SLPP stronghold, but this time around SLPP will no longer say Eastern region belongs to them since the Eastern Region is full of wise, civilized, conscious people, and people who vote for development, not on party color. He made assurance statements that if Sierra Leoneans vote President Koroma for the second term Sierra Leone will grow in comparison to other advance countries, he maintained.
