Free Health Care Drugs at Stake in Sierra Leone
Report on the allegation of two missing containers of free health care drugs at the Queen Elizabeth II Quay on the September 13th, have been submitted by the fact finding committee.
Evidence of the report states that the team was able to deduce that the two alleged missing containers were among the list of containers submitted to the auction committee and the other unstuffed container had been deposited at the Ola During Children’s Hospital.
The Fact Finding Committee’s report also revealed that the said container No ECMU470083-8 was auctioned to one Sallay Dainkeh, and exited the port via the main gate on September 19th, and the second container No ECMU 451434-5 was handed over to one Mr. Kallon, who happened to be the procurement officer of UNICEF.
Information further revealed that the unstuffed container was handed to Mr. Kallon loaded contents into vehicles with registration No, as follows ACP 689 (driven by Moses Fona), (AEB 850 driver by Hassan Kanu ) and AGB850 driver en-routed to Ola During Hospital- PCMH.
It was confirmed to the team that indeed received a consignment of medical drugs from the procurement officer of UNICEF named Mr. Kallon, and the said medical drugs reached the hospital loaded in trucks. However the medical doctor in charge Dr. David E Bayoh produced the investigation team with a photocopy of the list of items they received.
The said document was promised to make available by mid-day on Tuesday October19th, this year.
