Sierra Leone Pathologist Commends Mortuary Female Volunteer
The Government Forensic Consultant Pathologist, Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma (in photo) has commended the first female mortuary volunteer, Theodora Weay for her steadfastness and passion she has demonstrated when working with the lone pathologist during autopsy.
Dr. Owizz Koroma persuaded Journalists to write and talk about Sister Weay for demonstrating bravery in less than a year when he was performing two postmortems on February 16th, 2019 involving Mohamed Ansumana, 50 and Mustapha Zoker, 30 who died of Gunshot wounds during the recent bloody riot at Sahn Malen Chiefdom, Pujehun District between landowners and Socfin Agricultural Company which have invested millions of dollars in palm kernels.
Dr. Owizz Koroma encouraged other young women to emulate the good example of Sister Theodora Weay who is volunteering to serve the dead.
In her short response, Sister Theodora Weay said she started working as a volunteer at the mortuary October last year adding that she is now learning how to open, embalm and stitch all sort of body.
‘’I developed interest to work as volunteer in the mortuary to serve humanity because I have been neglected since I lost both parents when I was a kid’’, she told Journalists and spoke about the love he has for the dead. ‘’I sleep and eat with the dead’’, she asserted.
She discussed that, she is enjoying good working relationship with Dr. Owizz Koroma because, she said, she likes to crack jokes with them and encouraging them to continue practicing the job for the good of all Mamma Salone.
