NEC Set to Train Parliamentary Candidates
Chief of External Outreach at National Electoral Commission (NEC) Albert Massaquoi has told Sierra Express Media that candidates from all ten political parties will undergo a political training exercise prior to the 17th November 2012 Parliamentary elections.
Speaking to this press Albert Massaquoi also confirmed that all ten political parties have successfully submitted nomination lists for MP candidates that will contest this year’s election.
The NEC external outreach chief assured that every mechanism has been put in place to conduct a successful nomination process even before the final nomination for Presidential candidates which will take place immediately after the conclusion of MPs nomination process.
According to Albert Massaquoi the National Electoral Commission has also prepared all states for the printing of election materials which will be done by Zetes Printers in Belgium. Massaquoi adds that the printers are only waiting for all correct data before the commencement of printing.
Political Parties representatives have also expressed satisfaction over NEC handling of all nomination process, starting with local council right on to Presidential nomination stage. Editayo G Temple, National Publicity Secretary of United Democratic Movement party (UDM) noted that the NEC has done extremely well in making sure political parties enjoy equal opportunities during the electoral process.
