CDS Visits Frontline Units

The Chief of Defense Staff of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces, Major General Samuel O Williams, has completed his first maiden visit to the frontline Units of North-Eastern disposition.

The inception of this visit rested on the spirit of the cries of soldiers in the various Frontline Units of Lungi, Kono, Kabala, Kambia, and Makeni over the challenges of executing operational and tactical duties, which the CDS wishes to address immediately.

In his address to troops at the various locations, the CDS called on all officers to be self disciplined as the badge they are carrying bears the mark of decency and discipline, pointing that his administration is aware of the wall of challenges facing them, but urged them to keep the mandate of peace.

Also speaking to a joint team of Guinean Armed Forces Personnel, SLP officers, Custom Officials, and traditional leaders at Gbalamuya, Kambia District, the CDS elucidated on the need to strengthen the bilateral and cultural ties between the two sisters nation.

Assistant Chief of Defense Staff Personnel and Training, Brigadier Jah Tucker intimated the entourage over the five months undertook French classes, designed to create interoperability in our regional security arrangement, which he said is a big challenge they are encountering with their Guinean counterparts, which according to him, are stifling their operation.
