NDA Gets New Presidential Aspirant

Mohamed Pateh-Bah (in photo) is the latest to joined the race for the presidential flag-bearer of the National Democratic Alliance Party (NDA), he made this pronouncement in a press briefing held at NDA party headquarters, 5 Duke Street, Freetown.

Mr. Pateh-Bah aired out his political ambition on July 30th calling on all stakeholders to mark this day as the beginning of hope for his party. The new political aspirant began his political genesis with a glimpse of reflection on his profile. He was born in Sierra Leone and his two biological parents came from the country’s North/Southern regions.

Mr. Pateh-Bah said he is the son of a respectable Fullah father whose name he carries. That father was former Superintendent of Police Mohamed Pateh-Bah. His mother, Madam Mary Amie-Lango-Lansana was a Principal Social Development Officer. He said his paternal and maternal route have deep history of having contributed to the rich developmental milestone of the nation’s history.

Mr. Pateh-Bah revealed that he is a husband and a father, and considers himself as class of those privileged to have schooled in renowned institutions right from his early educational endeavor to tertiary institutions. He maintained that whilst at University he was an active politician who was able to rise to positions of Student Union President and activist of student unionism.

Aspirant Pateh-Bah noted further that his political drive was born out of NDA’s motto of “Respect for All”. He blamed polarization which he said was one factor that contributed to separate the true belonging of Sierra Leoneans into their strongholds. He said further that the seed of divided culture and ethnic imbalance celebrated by the two leading parties has taken a reckless trend in the country of late. Mr. Bah stressed that these social neglects and political menaces have been the backdrop to his entering into mainstream politics.

He explained that NDA’s political symbol of an elephant, serves the glimmer of hope that the party is in to make a difference among the other parties in the country.

Mr. Pateh-Bah said his political agenda is geared towards empowering the social sector which in return will help ameliorate the plethora of challenges the country faces in the various sectors of education, unemployment, and health care, etc; he noted further if voted into office come 2012 November polls he intends to run the country like a socialist state.
