NPA’s Eastern Electrical Supply
We underrated the wind of our circulation when we sometimes communicate as we think our message on the blackout in the east end of Freetown was never noticed. In fact it was much read. Much as the National Power Authority should not expect us thanking them for complying with consumer service demands, which they are paying for. We are glad of the fact that electricity is now going to help curtail the burgeoning crime syndicate in that part of the city. Light is now visible in the east end of Freetown, though it comes at a period closer to the end of the month –may be for some reasons, the NPA is anticipating a turnout in the payment of electricity bills as usual.
Our experiment worked. We didn’t blast the story on the front cover of our newspaper; the story only gained prominence in the inside pages, in special commentaries and run-on articles in the satire beat. One thing that was certainly clear is that a clear challenge was seen in place whereby light is made available by the government and those charged with the responsibility to distribute it equitably are usurping it.
The east has got the lousiest loyal patronage behind these political parties – congesting the rally pools, but when it comes to development, they are always muddled up in the forgetting strings and dump holes, as if they are not important.
We are equally monitoring the situation on the regular electricity supply issue and God willing we’ll continue to place this issue on NPA’s toes until they prove their worth as expected.
