Do the NEC know what they are doing?

The National Electoral Commission (NEC) seems to be blind with this biometric system of registration. The election is just around the corner and yet the institution is still struggling with its registration process. (Photo: NEC boss, Christiana Thorpe)

I can foresee glimpses of problems in the months ahead as the elections are approaching.  When one faces an obstacle in the registration process, NEC officials will give you no straight response but play you down like a sniffing dog in search of bones.

After sending one here and there with enough lies and nonsense, one question that keeps repeating itself is when will NEC complete this extraordinary biometric registration?

There are still thousands of daises rocking n rolling with the NEC administration while the problems still remained undiagnosed. What we are driving here at with NEC is that, if they are sure that the task is a heavy load for them to carry, why can’t they spit it out and let a solution be found before it gets too late?

Time is not on our side Madam Christiana Thorpe. Lots of problems come confronting the credibility of the system as many voters’ faces and names were being juxtaposed. The huge challenging problem the administration is facing is the herculean task for them to tell the people of this country the whole truth about what is happening with their inconsistencies.

Why do NEC officials keep lying to the masses of this country time and again? “Som tin wae get for moner dem, na im dem dae play with so” Why are they gambling with the people’s constitutional right?

Anything less than that will not go down well.It is about time Sierra Leonean leadrs begin to think about their legacies, and not merely trying to satisfy their handlers.
