Police Boss Blamed over Okada Lawlessness
The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of operation and police spokesman (AIG) Al Sheik Kamara (in photo) has been blamed by the general public for lawlessness in the country.
Several people whom this press spoke to expressed their dissatisfaction with AIG Al Sheik because they recalled when he was serving as (AIG ) East, okadas were not plying the streets of Kenema without riders wearing helmets, adding that they would not venture to disobey police verbal instruction nor flout road signs in Kenema. Interviewees added that as the man at the helm of operations in the SLP, he should be able to replicate his inactions in Freetown devoid of politics, regionalism, favoritism, and tribalism.
It would interest the public to know that okada riders do cause a lot of accidents due to lawless riding in the city a lot of people have been killed or rendered serious injuries.
It is an undisputable fact that AIG Al Sheik Kamara is a no-nonsense senior police officer, firm focus, dedicated to duty, loyal, result oriented, and perfect administrator, for himself nationally and internationally for which the SLP is very much proud of. The million dollar question the people are asking is why has Al Sheik failed to replicate most of his successes in Kenema to Freetown?
AIG Al sheik, the rate at which Poda-Poda drivers are running highway is a cause for concern as the police need to take drastic action now. The Drivers Union is watching drivers exploiting the people and they are not saying anything about it, so the police should act now.
It is a fact that you have bad traffic police officers that should be cautioned when discharging their duty or weeded out the SLP for corrupt practices.
