Over Subscription Payment…Airtel Partners With DSTV

On Wednesday July 18, Airtel announced their partnership with the Digital Satellite Television (DSTV), a leading television rights service provider in Sierra Leone in terms of subscription payment. Speaking during the announcement ceremony of the partnership, Corporate Affairs Manager, June Rose Johnson said Airtel’s partnership with DSTV is huge in a sense that subscribers using the Airtel Money transfer system are opportune to pay their DSTV, Guma-water bills, NRA, and other utility bills with consummate ease. “We are excited about this partnership with Airtel being the best in terms of wider service coverage in Sierra Leone”, she stated.  She added that subscribers would need no bank account to do their various transactions.

Head of Operations of DSTV, Lydia Djoh welcomed Airtel as one of their partners. “Airtel has brought convenient methods of payment that will be suitable for customers,” she stated, adding that the partnership between them and Airtel will go a long way in easing the long queue off for their customers who would now use their Airtel phones to honor their subscriptions.

Tapsir N’Jai, Head of Airtel Money said the Airtel Money platform is an additional product of mobile banking. He said Airtel is presently doing business with Ecobank, Zenith Bank, and Guaranty Trust Bank with their Money transfer facilities system which is currently making an ease of business strategy-being a transaction based service.

Njai said the good thing about Airtel Money transfer services is that it attracts no service charging fees for the subscribers, and that all they should keep caring eyes on is their pin codes.

June Rose Johnson later disclosed that the subscriber is also attracted to a 50% bonus if they recharge using the Airtel Money transfer system which lasts for a period of 24 hours.

HOW TO PAY YOUR DSTV BILL

  1. Go to your phone menu and select “Airtel”
  2. Select “Airtel Money”
  3. Select “make payments”
  4. Select “pay bill”
  5. Select “DSTV”
  6. Enter the amount in Leones
  7. Press OK to send
  8. Enter pin
  9. Enter DSTV account number

After all these, you will receive a confirmation SMS!
