Airtel launches bomba speed browsing

One of the leading mobile company operators in the country, Airtel Sierra Leone, on Monday 6th June, 2016 launched *800# at their headquarters at Hill Station in Freetown.

In his welcome remarks, the Acting Marketing Manager, Mr. Mohamed Kuyateh, noted that the paramount objective of Airtel is to make their numerous customers happy.

He disclosed plans to extend their network in the nook and cranny of the country.

In his keynote address, Airtel Managing Director, Mr. Dapo Alosope, who described Airtel Sierra Leone as the leading mobile service provider, informed the company’s valued customers that from the day of the launch, customers could browse from the data bundles they have purchased.

He said that when the bundles are used or expired in line with the pack chosen, browsing would cease and one could only continue to browse after subscribing to a new bundle via the short code *800#.

The Managing Director also informed that one would not be able to browse from the main account on the phone unless a bundle is purchased, adding that one can continue to make calls, send SMS and subscribe or join any other service of their choice.

Simplifying it further, Mr. Dapo Alosope said if someone tops up Le 1,000 and buys 2 MB for Le 450, the customer balance will be Le550, though he noted that when the 2 MB are used up or expired, you will not be able to browse from the remaining Le 550 balance in the customer’s main account unless they subscribe to another bundle via *800#.
