Parliamentarians Blast Executive Arm Of Government
The president, who is the head of the executive arm of government, has been criticized by members of parliament for “treating the legislative arm with contempt”. Members of parliament said that the president refused to give his assent to a Bill titled “Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation Act” that was passed by parliament and as such is holding the parliament in contempt.
Police Partnership Board Meets On Security
A two-day workshop on community security for members of the Local Police Partnership Board (LPPB) has ended at the senior officers Mess, Kingtom in Freetown. The workshop which was aimed at maintaining the hard won peace in the country attracted Local Police Partnership Board Divisions like Waterloo, Kissy, and Ross Road etc.
HFC Mortgage Becomes Public Entity
It is reported that following an extra-ordinary meeting held by HFC Mortgage and Savings PLC in Freetown on Thursday December 10 2009, the company would soon be transformed from a private company to a public entity. This was made possible after Article 3 of the article of association of the company was amended by those present at the extra-ordinary meeting.
Koroma Shows Concern For Guinea
Addressing sub-regional chiefs of Defence Staff in the 26th meeting of the ECOWAS committee of Defence Chiefs at state House on Thursday 10th December, 2009, President Koroma voiced his government and country’s concern about the deteriorating security situation in Guinea.
