Dr. Edward Magbity Talks Big

The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist in the Ministry of Health and Sanitation Dr. Edward Magbity has described president Koroma’s Agenda for prosperity as the third poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) noting that education and poor health are the two major causes of poverty.

He said the Ministry has made tremendous success in areas of Maternal and Child Mortality reduction and human resource services delivery in the country.

Dr. Magbity emphasized the need for line Ministries like Energy and Water Resources, Works and Infrastructure, Education and Agriculture including Gender and Children Affairs to give the necessary support to achieve the ultimate goal of the Agenda for Change.

He outline progress made in the Agenda for Change with priority areas and gains, with strategies on HIV AIDS, TB, Sexually Transmitted Infectious, Water and Sanitations, Sickle cell, Anemia

He said the ministry has identified possible flagship projects with structures relating to poverty reduction and prosperity growth, analysis of current health situation and the projection of the Country’s set goals.
