Airtel doles provisions to the National School for the Blind
Airtel as part of their corporate social responsibility on Wednesday May 16th visited the National School for the Blind to help them with provisions for their upkeep.
Students, teachers and proprietor came out to welcome the Airtel family, Manchester legend Dwight Yorke, and Sierra Leone’s super star Mohamed Kallon.
Proprietor Albert Sandy said that they integrate the kids for the primary education before sending them out for secondary education. This school was founded in May 1956 and it has trained lots of children, some of whom are in the university. Airtel has been so instrumental in helping the blind.
The proprietor revealed that the school’s choir has put the school on the map and we advertise the children because of the socio-economic situation. Sandy ended by saying that with Airtel around us, we will conquer.
Manchester Legend Dwight Yorke said that he was very impressed to see the blind perform some skills. Much more will be done in the future for the blind Dwight told the school. He also said that he will never forget his visit to The National School for the Blind in Sierra Leone.
