National Violence Awareness Raising semi-finals commences
Four teams have reached the semi final in the ongoing Non Violence and Awareness Raising Gala at the Lumley, Grassfield playing field. The teams include MAFA, Hill Station, Brookfields, and Coal Farm.
In one semi-final match, Brookfields engages with Coal Farm, and today MAFA will battle against Hill Station.
The grand finale is slated for Friday 27th April. All matches will be played at the Grassfield playing field at 4:30pm prompt.
The champions of the Non Violence and Awareness Raising Gala will received the sum of four Million Leones, Runners up will bag the sum of Two Million Leones and the best behaved team will received the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Leones.
Before the commencement of the grand final there will be a veterans’ football match between Arsenal and Manchester United residing within constituency 112 to be followed by musical performance by Sierra Leone musical icons.
Speaking to the co-sponsors of the competition, Mr. Thomas Daddy Brima Widely known as Mac Dad and John B. Tucker popularly known as (JT)Â told the Sierra Express Media Sports that all modalities have been put in place to ensure that the Gala final becomes colourful and all prize winners will received their cash prizes immediately after the grand finale.
Dignitaries within constituency 112 and other high profile members of the opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) including the flagbearer retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio will take the kick off and Western Area SLPP chairman, Mr. Brima Kieta will issue the prizes to the deserving champions.
