Two SLPP stalwarts in fist fight in Sierra Leone

Two Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) members, former Councilor Edwin Boima and Hon. Foday Rado Yokie of Constituency 068 have clashed in the southern city of Bo following the former’s declaration to contest for the seat Hon. Foday Rado Yokie is occupying in the November elections.  (Photo: Hon. Foday Rado Yokie)

According to our Bo correspondent the controversy spanned in last weekend of March when Edwin Boima went on a campaign spree against Honorable Yokie as he described him unfit to run for the seat anymore because Honorable Yokie was recently convicted of arson following the melee that left regional offices of the ruling All People’s Congress (APC) burnt down.

Our southern correspondent said, Edwin Boima pointed out that Hon. Rado Yokie has lost the respect he used to command because of his recent criminal records. He said a mistake by the SLPP to award him a symbol to contest anymore would land the seat into either the PMDC or APC.   Hon. Foday Rado Yokie our correspondent stated met Edwin Boima on the height tarnishing his name at the SLPP Southern Regional Offices at Fonti Street in Bo, where he declared to run for the seat and both were engaged in fist fight and throwing of missiles on each others’ crowd of supporters.

Our correspondent later has it that Hon. Foday Rado Yokie’s comment saying he is disappointed with the SLPP as all they could pay him back in turn for his sacrifices is ingratitude and back door treatment going further to plant somebody against him.

Sources close to the SLPP party offices in Bo intimated that the Moyamba incident that left much causality was orchestrated by Hon. Foday Rado Yokie who they likened as another Musa Tarawally in the APC.
