Libya FC lifts Albert G Lavay Nations Cup Trophy
Libya FC have won the Albert Gibao Lavay trophy on Saturday following their 1-0 defeat of Leone Stars at the Bango playing field in the peninsular region. The lone goal was scored by Ibrahim Goba in the 9th minute from a free kick.
The match was thrilling throughout the break as both teams played a tactical game of sport maintaining a consistent ball possession.
In the second half, Libya FC were booked with a Red Card but that was not enough for Leone stars to level the scores on to full time. The end result left Libya FC player, officials, technical team and supporters in frenzied position celebrating their victory.
The sponsor, Albert Gibao Lavay addressed the teams and later handed over the giant trophy, cash prize, gold medals and certificates to the champions. The runners-up, Leone Stars took home hefty cash prizes, silver medals and certificates.
Heady Massaquoi of Libya won the best player of the tournament award, Gina Goba of Leone Stars won the goal king medal, Mohamed Mansaray of Leone Stars was decorated as the best goalkeeper of the tournament, while the Best Coach Award went to Coach Ibrahim Koroma of Libya FC and best behaved team prize went to the Adonkia Police FC.
