After hard work at Sierra Express… Editor Samura bids farewell

For almost a period of two years, from  July of 2010, Ibrahim Samura (in photo) took the hot seat position of Editor of Sierra Express Media (SEM) newspaper.  Following Samura’s frequent news contributions he impressed the proprietor and CEO, Adeyemi Paul who was away from Sierra Leone.

Samura met an editorial crisis in the management of the newspaper – which he cleverly laid in the past. This earned him his appointment as Editor with designation letter referenced in the archives.  Since his time of tenure, he has always been punctual and proved to be a hard worker with some amount of resilience.  He is fondly remembered by his teaching aptitude – serving as well in the capacity of a newsroom lecturer to his reporters.  He’s got that reporter newsroom policy to always orientate in the form of guiding his reporters on best practice guides of journalism.

News of his leaving shocked the newsroom in the morning hours of Thursday March 1st.  Well he actually said he is leaving to undertake his own projects.  From a proprietor’s point of view, his shock exit could not be envied.  As a man who has been very hard working, is was not a guess to see him quit one day to hold his own business, but it’s too instantaneous – without a prior notice, reported Adeyemi Paul proprietor and CEO of SEM.

“The management and staff of Sierra Express Media will always accord him the maximum respect he deserves”, stated the CEO.  This is a show of gratefulness to all his sacrifices in service and sure he is dearly missed, Adeyemi concluded.

  • I wish Mr. Samura good luck in the new business he is creating. Indeed he was a hard working and honest Sierra Leonean. Like Ibrahim Samura SEM has been the number one independent online newspaper in Sierra Leone. Readers of this paper will miss you but we will still remain to be viewers of this press and hope the good work of Mr. Samura in the absence of the CEO will still continue.
Although the idiot was a senceless creture but he was able to get 79.9% of internet viewers on Sierra Leone News in his kingdom.
