PAC heightens Sierra Leone health care

The team comprised of 23 doctors from respective countries in Europe, America, Africa and Asia.
PAC has been rendering free medical support to a number of African countries – so to say-Somalia, Sudan, Ghana, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sierra Leone.
For Sierra Leone, this is PAC’s second moment rendering such humanitarian offers.
After five days of ‘free health services’ to needy Sierra Leoneans in the capital of Freetown, the 23 doctors will leave to return to Saudi Arabia, where their head office is situated and hopefully come back to visit in six months time.
PAC works in collaboration with the Government of Sierra Leone and the Sierra Leone United Council of Imams.
Dr. Ali Alkreedees, a general vascular surgeon and a member and founder of the higher council of PAC told our reporter how successful their visit to Sierra Leone has been.
“Since the commencement of PAC’s free health treatment in Freetown, some 160 patients have been screened and diagnosed with anemia,” Dr. Ali said.
“We have given lectures to medical students in the country, and we also offered specialized training courses to interested medical students”.
He furthered however that PAC has donated an oxygen supply plant, and oxygen cylinder machine to the government of Sierra Leone to boost the health system in the country. “We reviewed the country’s health system and with God being our helper there are plans to improve service quality at the Connaught hospital.
The General Secretary, Dr. Sa’ad Ali Al-Garni gave special condolence to President Koroma, the United Council of Imams and the Ministry of Health for making their trip to Sierra Leone, possible and applicable.
He said their organization’s visit to Sierra Leone will certainly facilitate and help improve relations between member countries – Sierra Leone and Saudi Arabia.
Sierra Leonean doctors, Martin Salia and A.B. Barrie expressed delight and said they’ve gained a lot of experience with the visit of PAC.
That Connaught Hospital can now boast of an oxygen plant and oxygen cylinder machine.
