APC Asia chapter boost Union of Youth
The All People’s Congress (APC) Asia chapter has made a donation of a photocopier machine and printing accessories including assorted items worth thousands of dollars to members of the Union of Youth Sierra Leone during a presentation ceremony held Saturday 7th January this year, at the organization’s office in Freetown.
What is described as a gift from the APC Asia chapter came as a compliment of the party’s relentless efforts in salvaging the plights of young people in Sierra Leone.
In a brief remark at the presentation the APC Asia chapter Trustee Bob Foday expressed his delight to meet with Union of Youth Sierra Leone and make such a wonderful donation to youngsters, saying that the party’s chapter is now open to the public in Freetown and young people particular are always welcome there.
“APC Asia chapter is the only political party that has a liaison office in Freetown as a way to coming closer to our compatriots and work collaboratively to attain the aims and objectives of the Agenda for Change as designed by President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma”, he said.
Liaison office he reassured all, is always ready to partner with youths from all shades of the society in all their undertakings.
The APC Asia chapter Secretary General Hamza Bangura said it was an honour to make the donation to youths of Sierra Leone who he described as the backbone to the development of the country. He added that the chapter in Asia is fully representing the government of President Koroma. Mr. Bangura recalled that it was late President Siaka Stevens’ led APC government that established diplomatic relations with the late chairman Mao of the communist party of the People’s Republic of China in 1972 which President Koroma is the only leader who has revived bilateral relations by visiting China trice since he assumed office as a Head of State.
According to the secretary general silence was broken on the 23rd July 2011 when a group of Sierra Leoneans who believed in the philosophies and ideologies of the APC government thought it fit to throw their weight behind President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma’s Agenda for Change.
“The people of Sierra Leone should now do away with region, tribal and politics of sentiment and let us re-elect President Koroma so that we can see our country moving forward”, he encouraged all.
Chairman Union of Youths Mohamed Jento Kamara said though Sierra Leone is a very small nation yet it is vital to China, thus implored all and sundry to maintain the good ties that have existed between the two countries.
He referred to the gesture made by the APC Asia chapter as a support to President Koroma’s efforts in addressing youth problems in the country. The Union of Youth he said is a non-political organization but however thought it fit to support the leader and chairman of the APC for his good works he is doing in the country.
“President Koroma has given opportunities to young people. And we are worry about his replacement when his term shall have come to end”, he said.
