New Apostolic Church heightens needy children

The New Apostolic Church Mission Aid Sierra Leone Thursday 17th donated food, non food items and school materials worth €4,700 about Le 30 million (Thirty Million Leones) to the Network on children in Need at the Allen Town community Freetown.

The Church has branches in countries in Africa, Europe etc; and the foundation of its teachings is the Holy Scripture (the Bible).

The Church is apolitical and independent. It is financed by donations from its members.

The Church’s Regional Manager for Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast Fritz Rohrer, in his measurement said funds were raised through offerings from two congregations (Waiblingen-Bittenfeld and Weiler zum Stein), in Southern Germany. Adding however that a special sportive event by youths was held to help raise fund needy Sierra Leonean children.

He said the orphanage home was selected based on an assessment and recommendation from the Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs.

Mr. Rohrer maintained it is important to help people that are in need.  “Jesus said it and we should do it,” he said.

He said the donation is sure to put laughter on the faces of children who have been neglected or rejected or are not be able to be cared for.

Country Manager Samuel Ade Cole said the New Apostolic Church also supports agriculture, improved water well and health centres projects in the country.

He reiterated that they have supported the construction of water wells in the Loko-Masama Chiefdom Port Loko District.

Receiving the items, the Proprietress Inna Marie Kamara, while thanking the church expressed gratitude for the gesture and asked other institutions emulate the New Apostolic Church.

Madam Kamara explained that she has survived for years under terrible conditions to give hope to the children.

The Church has made similar donations to the Kissy Mental home among others.
