Water shortage – Lungi
Persons resident in Lungi yesterday revealed to our reporter that there is shortage of pipe borne water in the Lungi town and outskirts.
They said they’ve been left without any option, but to rely on well water for drinking and for domestic purposes.
That the water they now drink is giving them water borne diseases.
“Our children get sick almost everyday,” disgruntled Mamy Sento said.
It is disclosed also that the lack of safe drinking water in Lungi has apparently created problem for residents of the town.
That persons complaining sick have had no choice but get medical treatment from untrained and unqualified medical men ‘Pepeh doctors’ or take native herbs.
They are appealing to Government and non Governmental Organizations to provide them with reservoirs to enable them enjoy the pleasure of safe drinking water.
