German NGO harmonizes free health care

A German based Non Governmental Organization, Kinder Africa Project (KAPev) has complemented President Koroma’s Free Health Delivery by donating a consignment of assorted drugs to the Kroo Bay Community Health Centre.

Presenting the medical supplies, a representative in Freetown from Germany, Moses Chima Amadi, revealed that he felt obliged to advocate for medical relief aid for deprived communities in Sierra Leone such as the Kroo Bay slum.

He said the German base organization is giving out medical aid to many countries in the world with Sierra Leone being no exception.

He said after an assessment need visitation to Kroobay, he conveyed their plight to the German Aid organization, who responded by donating a consignment of drugs.

Pastor Benjamin O. Benson the KAP’S focal person in Sierra Leone said the donation of the drugs to the Kroobay Health Clinic is both a humanitarian and symbolic gesture which is expected to be replicated in other less privileged communities in the country. He urged them that the drugs should be dispensed to those in need.

Receiving the drugs on behalf of the clinic, the Community Health Officer, Barber Musa commended the German based NGO on behalf of the Government of Sierra Leone. 

He said at the moment the clinic is going through many challenges, but said he is hopeful there is be big windfall for the community.

In her statement, the chairlady for the Health Management Committee Madam Fudia Kamara expressed thanks and appreciation to the benefactors for the donation. She maintained that the consignment of the drugs allocated to the clinic by the government is not enough because of the growing population of the community. She therefore expressed hope that more goodies will come from KAP and other humanitarian agencies.  The occasion was climaxed by the handing over of the drugs by Moses Chima Amadi to the Health Officer Barba Musa.

In a separate development, the KAP representative demonstrated their commitment to boost education in Sierra Leone through the donation of teaching and learning materials to the Children in Crisis primary school on Allen Town.

The proprietress of the School Madam Isatu Kamara expressed thanks and appreciation to members of KAP for what she referred to as God sent gift. She explained that for such a gift to come from thousands of miles across oceans to reach children in dire need is a challenge.  She prayed that the Almighty God develop KAP and hoped they do more for the children and people of Sierra Leone. Brother Amadi pointed that his organization intends doing more for Sierra Leone as plans are underway to provide a school bus for pupils of the school, initiate a school feeding programme and a continued subvention on salaries. He further disclosed that KAP has assisted in the construction of the present structure housing the school.

Focal person, Pastor Benjamin Benson, of the Olive of Christ Mission said they were moved by the Holy Spirit to extend help to the deprived people of Sierra Leone. He further spoke on plans to open a standard orphanage in the country and to extend further assistance to Mattru Jong and Pujehun respectively.
