Mental home requests support staff
Mr. Leisure Anneiru Briamah, a registered nurse, who also doubles as the matron of Kissy Mental Home Hospital has told this press that there are over one hundred patients admitted at the hospital with less qualified nurses.
Adding, “Nurses refuse to be posted at the Kissy Mental Home for no just reason.”
He said nurses avoid working at the Mental Hospital because it lacks the required facilities.
Nurse Leisure appealed to government to offer institute trainings and workshops for worker at the Mental Hospital. He urged government to pay more attention at the Kissy Mental Hospital as the job atmosphere is unfavourable for them.
He outlined the factors that basically made people go mad and attribute same to inherit age from the family, stress, poverty, abuse of drugs (idiopathic) and unknown acute illness.
He said challenges they now faced at the hospital are numerous. He thanked government for providing the required drugs.
He appreciates government for also providing food for the patients and said meal is served three times a day.
That there are 100 patients at the hospital of which 36 are female and 64 male.
