All eyes on Sierra Leone this Sunday

Sierra Leone will again take center stage this Sunday courtesy of catwalk beauty, Swadu Natasha Beckley.

Beckley, 24, is representing her country at the 61st edition of the Miss World beauty pageants show in London.

The event, which is schedule to take place at the Earls Court Two in London, will see Beckley compete with over 100 contestants from different countries for the most coveted crown.

It could be recalled that Sierra Leonean beauty queen almost lost out of the contest as a result of not been able to raise enough funds to take part in the event, but sources say donations from well-meaning Sierra Leonean institutions and individuals, including the President of the Republic, ensured the success of her trip.

Popular businessman and award winning philanthropist, Nasser Ayoub, told SaloneJamboree that this is the time for Sierra Leone to rally round Natasha.

Ayoub said: “Sierra Leone must rally round Natasha, she needs our support. If the whole of Sierra Leone can come together for Leone Stars, we can also do the same for Natasha because she is representing the whole of Sierra Leone at the world stage.”

The Proprietor of Hotel Africanus, who also sang a duet with Sierra Leone music icon Jimmy B., further said that several TV networks across the world will broadcast the event and therefore called on the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBS TV) to broadcast the event live.

WHERE TO WATCH

Head of Television at SLBC, Samuel Valcarcel, told SaloneJamboree on Wednesday that management would look at possibilities. But Medo TV, which is operating a satellite TV rebroadcast, a handful of channels that broadcast the event Live.

Medosat subscribers can tune in at 5pm on Sunday to TV3 for all the actions.

China’s CCTV is also available on Medosat as a reliable source of the event at the same time.

The event can also be watched on E! Entertainment, Active Channels, SBS, NonStop Television, Zee Café, Fof, tvnz, RTV and Antena 3.
