Sister Wisdom in from Korea …

Sister Wisdom Veronica Conteh, one of Sierra Leone’s prevailing women of God, has with a smile told Sierra Express Media that the concluded International Prayer Council summit in Korea appears to be a record breaking one.

“This year’s meeting focuses on the formation of a Tri Generational Network thus eyeing youths and children, and allowing them take leadership responsibilities in society,” Sister Wisdom revealed.

“The adults who are the unending leaders of world nations are known for calling children ‘leaders of tomorrow,’ but have at all times failed engaging them take leadership tasks.”

That the IPC meeting was able to identify facts that young people have the positive capacity of change, look for the realities, are sharp and can adapt to issues quicker.

Sister Wisdom told this press that Christians, in one voice, have called on world leaders to recognize young people, accept them, trust them, and in particular give them the opportunities to lead, make mistakes and allow them learn by the mistakes they make.

She said that the Korea meeting also came out with a resolution to hold a world prayer assembly in 2012, which hopefully, will take place in Jakarta in the Indonesian Republic.

“As I speak,” Sister Wisdom emphasised, “twenty thousand children intercessors the world over – ages 4 to 14 – have engaged in praying for the success of the proposed world prayer assembly come 2012.”

It could be recalled that Korea, as a country, has a history of sorrows since the 19th century. Colonized by Japan, regained its independence after the Second World War due to supports from Russia and the United States respectively, North Korea has the largest prison camp in the world, the worse human rights record, and has suffered of starvation over the years.

The prayer initiative for North Korea aims at 1, God’s mercy and intervention for North Korean people and 2, the unification of South and North Korea which have longed separated since 1953.

Sister Wisdom Veronica Conteh is one Africa’s representatives in the international prayer council and a member of the 15 men committee interceding for the United Nations in the world.

She has represented Africa and Sierra Leone at international conferences and has served as peace Ambassador and a prayer warrior for her native country- Sierra Leone.
