SLRTA donates toilet seats to GTI

The Sierra Leone Road Transport Authority (SLRTA) Wednesday 21st donated six toilet seats to the Government Technical Institute (GTI) at Ferry Junction east of Freetown.

The handing over of the donation was held at SLRTA’s Head Quarter offices at Kissy Road.

In his statement, the Acting Executive Director SLRTA, Ahmed Kelfala Yansaneh said his organization once received a request from management GTI in the area of support.

He said he is of the belief that the items donated will leave a mark in hearts of management of GTI.

He disclosed that SLRTA is geared upon rendering services to the Nation.  That their role is not only limited to registration of vehicles and issuing of driving license but also in the area of national development generally.

He revealed however that the authority’s systems have all been computerized and they are now thinking of interconnectivity.

“We have similar offices in Makeni, Kono,” he said “It is my intention to a leave a SLRTA that will create for a pleasant atmosphere.”

He stressed the fact that people are in the habit of not paying tax.

He said it is the taxes that they collect that are transferred to the SLRA road fund.

He however handed over donated toilet seats to management of GTI and urged them to use them wisely.

The student union President of GTI, Hassan A.K Massaquoi expressed gratitude to the management of SLRTA and told them that they will propagate the good works of the Authority to people out there.

“These gifts have left an indelible print in our minds that we will easily not forget.”
