Sierra Leone RTA bids farewell to two

The Board and Management of the Sierra Leone Road Transport Authority (SLRTA) on Thursday 31st July, 2014 bade farewell to two retirees at a colorful ceremony held at the Authority’s headquarters, Kissy Road in Freetown.

The retirees are Ibrahim Kamara, Secretary in the Human Resource and Administrative Department and Brima A. R. Davies attached to the License Department.

SLRTA Public Relations Officer, Abdul Karim Dumbuya, who read the citations of the retirees, articulated that the Authority appreciates their work as the two worked in the civil service for decades adding, “there is reward for good work as all of us will have to retire one day.”

SLRTA Board Chairman, Professor Harry Turay commended the Chief Executive Director of the Authority, Dr. Sarah Finda Bendu (in photo) for the initiative to honor retirees that would make them proud and appreciated by society underscoring that the event would also serve as a motivation to staff.

Professor Harry Turay further highlighted the achievements of the Authority under the sterling leadership of Dr. Sarah Bendu.

Responding, Dr. Sarah Finda Bendu disclosed that the two retirees were assets to the Authority and that it was a pleasure to work with them but underscored that all the workers are important.

According to the Executive Director, “there is no permanent worker in any institution. The Authority is always ready to call on the two as and when needed because there is life after retirement.”

The two retirees lauded the Board, management and staff of the Authority for appreciating their services and recognizing them.

Colleagues of the two retirees also made similar statements.

One of the Directors of the Board presented two deep freezers and Certificates of Merit to the two retirees whilst presentation of gifts climaxed the ceremony.
