Reporters Union condemns attack on journalists
The Sierra Leone Reporters Union (SLRU) condemns the recent attack on journalists at the National Stadium while performing their duty to cover an international football fixture between Sierra Leone and Egypt last weekend by Presidential bodyguards.
SLRU condemns the barbaric attack on journalists and calls for an immediate investigation in to the matter and culprits brought to book.
The Sierra Leone Reporters Union is hereby urging President Ernest Bai Koroma and his government to help bring the police officers to book and let justice be done to show there is respect for the rule of law in Sierra Leone.
However, SLRU is worried about the safety of journalists working in the country.
