Alusine Kanu is presently taking consolation in Holland due to unfortunate encounters slammed him by some members belonging to a Sierra Leonean traditional organization.

His departure to Holland was secretly done by a an ordained man of God, Pastor Christopher, who owns a church somewhere around Masiaka town – 47 kilometers off the capital of Freetown.

Alusine was with his family in his home town in Koya Chiefdom north of Sierra Leone.  At age 17 he was forced to be initiated as a member in the Poro society so as to cause him serve as heir to his father who was a strong member.

Attempts to have him fully initiated were made but at every given time were foiled.  At first instance, he was caught and forcefully taken into the society bush for initiation but escaped after being inflicted with fire wounds on his stomach and other parts of his body.

He was later rushed to Freetown by his parents for urgent medical treatment. After treatment, he was left in hands of a friend of his father, who was secretly disguising him from society members.

Alusine’s father and mother died while he was in Freetown staying with the friend of his father. Findings have it that the late father, Pa. Kanu, died due to hindrances on account of harsh and uncalled for treatments meted his son by society members of his.

“When later Alusine travelled to his village in Koya,” a source said, “he was again kidnapped by society members and taken for re-initiation.”

Luck being his way, he escaped and found himself at a church around Masiaka town for safety. As he keeps receiving threats of an attack by village compatriots/Poro society, he was left without option but to look for a safer place.

That it was as a result of the above that Pastor Christopher humanly sought out avenues that lead Alusine being flown to Holland where he now seeks sanctuary.

Information reaching this press indicates that the clergy man, who has helped poor Alusine find his way out of Sierra Leone, has since been receiving threats from unknown individuals who accused him of running away with a man they look for.

It is a fact that Alusine was forced to abandon school and joined street boys at a market place called ‘Dough Cut’ to carry baggage for buyers at respective destinations.

Reports have it that Alusine was flown out of the country through the help of some foreign nationals who had visited Sierra Leone and were staying in Port-Loko town.

Yans and Anes were friends of Pastor Christopher and had provided a way out for Alusine on grounds of sympathy.
