The Pharaohs and the Waterfront Boys decider for CAF qualifier
The Pharaohs of Egypt will be fielding a new team of youngsters to replace the entire old squad that has not been able to regain its past glory as champions by winning a record three consecutive times the African Nations Cup of soccer. This poor performance of the old pharaohs has caused Egypt’s national coach Hassan Shehata loosing his job. However the young team should not be considered as underdogs as the wisdom of former coach Hassan is still with them. (Photo, author)
From a genuine perspective and as a former footballer and one that has actually engaged an Egyptian side in soccer, I would like to share this little secret with the Waterfront boys that would help us get another sweet victory.
Firstly of all I want to thank our coaches and trainers and the spectators and the government for a job well done against Niger and that the necessary corrections from that match, and subsequent matches that have followed are done. Now is time for serious business if we are to qualify, this would be the match to win . I believe all the necessary ingredients would be available for an overwhelming victory awaits all Sierra Leoneans. No doubt, the home crowd should be at infinity and in a ” vuvuzela” fashion to cheer our men in action.
The Egyptians are fine sportsmen and among the first in the continent to qualify for a world cup soccer tournament, the track record over the years has been marvelous with a total of seven wins of the African Cup of Nations should never be underrated.
The Waterfront boys on the other hand are learning fast, and have made great strides in recent times with a lot awaiting for them in European soccer. Surely this is going to be one of the greatest matches at all times in the continent.
The pharaohs are going to be aggressive and would do their utmost in trying to win and the only way to dent their zeal is for our soccer idols from start to finish never relent, wear them out with our climate in this part of the world would be an added advantage.
The copper test stamina of our players is better when compared to an Egyptian player. Watch for silly mistakes, be absolutely professional to avoid any red card watch out some referees have their own ways of viewing home sides against visitors, be confident that you are going to win the match. The forward line needs to be cautious and avoid hasty shots at the goalie, the best approach is a good team work and solo opportunities well utilized.
Good Luck
