Voting ended shortly after Alpha Tejan Wurie, one of the 19 Presidential candidates cast the last but final vote to memorably bring to close the process.

Happy day for SLPP

At the hall at Miatta Conference Centre, all 19 aspirants were seated in an unambiguous manner, transparently observing the process of voting by delegates of the SLPP party.

All but none neither winked nor nodded their heads all night long.

Usman Boie Kamara, runner up

The two major contenders, Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara and Retired Brigadier Maada Bio held their heads up hopeful and worriedly waiting to hear the chairman of the electoral board announce the result.

Even though votes were counted in isolation, Maada Bio successfully emerged as winner.

Supporters celebrated triumphantly with their candidate Maada Bio.
