The President for Kids Advocacy Network Sierra Leone Tuesday 11th received police medical report form shortly after informing the police at New England Ville that he was brutally assaulted by guards attached to the First Lady.  (Photo:  Edmund Fornah on a previous visit, shaking hands with HE President Ernest Bai Koroma)

Edmund Fornah, who doubles as national President for Kids Advocacy Network Tuesday 5th was with one Chief Ya-Alimamy at the Presidential Lodge to see the First Lady Mrs. Sia Nyama Koroma.

On their arrival, Chief Ya- Alimamy left Edmund at the basement of the building and therefore climbed steps leading to the upstairs apartment to notify the First Lady’s secretary of their arrival.

Minutes after Chief Ya-Alimamy’s parting, officers in civilian dresses unceremoniously approached the 14 year old boy (Edmund), accusing him of acting as undercover agent for the opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP).

He without any excuse was dragged from the waiting room at the downstairs apartment and taken to the open walkway and beaten mercilessly by about four or more guards.

According to Edmund, the guards cruelly, viciously beat him up and later threw him in the bushes around the building.

“At some point,” he said, “I was not of myself at all. I gained consciousness after observing that I was no longer at the office premises of the First Lady, but in the bush and in serious pain.”

“I later crawled to the open part where finally I was picked up and loaded on board a jeep where also Chief Ya-Alimamy was.”

“The jeep refused to take me to the hospital even though in serious pain. ‘Don’t give me trouble, useless boy,’ Chief Ya-Alimamy said.” “Thanks to the Okada riders at Hill Cut Junction, who humanly pitied me and rushed me to the 34 Military hospital where I spent two good days under medical treatment,” Edmund reiterated.

In an interview with one of President’s Secretaries, Madam Yvonne, she told this press that Edmund was never beaten at all.

Efforts to get the police at New England comment on their investigation proved futile.
