Bai Bureh Hospital Receives Le 90M

The Bai Bureh Community Hospital in Mahera Lungi last week received Le 90 million from the West African Health Organization in Uganda to cause the rehabilitation of the hospital.

At a ceremony held at the premises of Bai Bureh Hospital, Morris Sheriff, who works for the West African Health Organization said, he was in Sierra Leone on international assignment, but fell sick and was rushed to the government hospital for treatment.

That he was rejected at the government hospital and was later moved to Bai Bureh Hospital where finally he was medically attended to.

“It was as a result of good conducts of medics at the Bai Bureh Hospital that, on my returned to Uganda, I lobbied humanitarian organizations for support to rehabilitate the forenamed hospital,” Morris said.

“Today, I am proud to say that the sum of Le 90 million raised on behalf of Bai Bureh Hospital would swiftly enhance the rehabilitation of desperately needed facilities at the hospital.”

In his measurement, the medical director of Bai Bureh Hospital, Hassan Moses, thanked Morris Sheriff and officials of West African Health Organization for financially complimenting efforts of his hospital.

He furthered though that Bai Bureh Hospital has had busy moments attending to mostly pregnant women within and around the Lungi communities.

He said the hospital, on a yearly basis, has been surrendering medical assistant to about 40 or more pregnant women.

He calls on government to consider including the Bai Bureh Community Hospital in its free health care drive.
