CEO Of Create & Design Receives Prestigious Award
As he continues to provide job opportunities for youths across the country, the Founder/ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Create & Design Group of Company, Osman Tolo Turay, was recently given a prestigious award from Transparent Union Youth Advocacy Organization (TUYADO), for his outstanding contributions, at the 60th most successful Sierra Leoneans and development awards ceremony.
The historic ceremony that was held at the Jabext Complex Hall on Cal-mount Road ,in the Western Area Rural District, Waterloo, attracted several high profile personalities, including the Deputy Managing Director, Rokel Commercial Bank, Emmanuel Bobor, Chief Administrator of WARD C, Rahman Tom Farmer, President of Sierra Leone Bar Association, Michaela Edinia Swallow, Chairperson Board of NRA, Dr. Willie James Fonah, Dr.Tuma Adama Gento, among others.
In an exclusive interview with Engineer Osman Tolo Turay, after receiving his Award on behalf of Create & Design Group of Company, he expressed delight in the recognition by the organizers to put him among the 60th most successful Sierra Leoneans, noting that the award given to him is as a result of teamwork and had inspired him greatly to do more for young and retired people in the society.
Osman Tolo said he was impressed to be selected as the 33rd person among the 60 most influential Sierra Leoneans and that his area of study happens to be in civil engineering, which has a lot to offer to the country in terms of road construction, if only government bestowed trust on the management of Create & Design Group of Company.
He said his company is registered and is capable of doing what other foreign companies are doing in the area of building and construction, but he is only waiting for certain things to reposition his company, so that more youths will be gaining employment, either in the engineering, business, and security sectors.
Engineer Tolo went further to explain that the award ceremony was staged to recognize potential investors and also to celebrate Sierra Leoneans and institutions that have positively and tremendously contributed to national development, adding that his company, a sole proprietorship, has established a security company known as Create & Design Security Company, to incorporate other youths who were not too good in the engineering field, but can do well in the security aspect or in the business arena.
“I am determined to inspire young people and even old ones to reduce unemployment issues in the country, so that we could live in peace and harmony without harming each other. I am also calling on government and other International Non-governmental Organizations, Private Financial Institutions and other Individuals to provide us with lucrative contracts, so that our youths can implement what they have learnt from their various learning institutions like building &construction, creative design, graphics, road construction, business management, ICT, among others”, Engineer Osman Tolo disclosed.
Engineer Tolo also asserted that if he has the support of government, he would definitely contribute immensely in the area of fixing or constructing some feeder roads in the Western Area Rural and even beyond, with more sophisticated tools and manpower.
He however commended the organizers for bringing together dignified and influential personalities to Western Area Rural District in the implementation of Transparent Union Youth Advocacy Organization, especially in the area of addressing the high rate of school dropouts in the society, by inspiring successful investors or business tycoons.
Mr. Turay said he did building & construction in university, like steel bending, road construction, graphic design and IT, but now he has been able to build a giant company called Create & Design, because since he was in high school he had loved to create and design things, and this has been the motivation for the registration of his company as Create & Design, with its headquarters at 18 Howe Street in Freetown, and branches in Waterloo, Bassa Town, whilst he is also planning to establish another branch in Kenema, Bo, Makeni and other places in the future.
He appealed to government and its international donor partners to come onboard and give a helping hand, as they have trained thousands of youths on building &construction, business management and security matters.
