Mister Idiot: These death tolls and death penalty…Mrs. Amnesty, you won’t have a win win situation

If a man defecates in one’s parlour, not only idle eyes would watch him do so comfortably, but the house lord would stump either his back or head. It implies as well even in poetic justice, that evil is repaid with calamity.

The fair argument in this is that the order of magnitude of two destructions can never be the same.  In a similar vein, Mrs. Amnesty International is kingpin on ‘the must not’ rule, which in other words is saying that taking one’s life is one of the most cruel acts… Mr. Idiot in this respect thinks the most heinous of all is the unlawful taking of one’s life. The natural law of justice: ‘audi patem alteram’ ties in the golden rule in the law of morality to interpret that, one should only do onto others the same or similitude of what he or she would like others to do to him/her. This fairs in almost thoroughly, equality and justice both have their thoroughfares. For example, the suppressed individual shares an inequality when talking about avenging the actions. In this case, the victim would not avenge his death.

To assuage such trauma in the victim’s family, poetic justice as in this case, the tit-for-tat situation could be one of the solutions. This law seeks to interpret the moral injunction of impunity by setting a precedent. Everybody’s life is precious.

In this respect, Mrs. Amnesty, Mr. Idiot is saying that those who kill must deserve the death penalty by law. This does not contradict “the two wrongs cannot make one right phraseology”, killing in other words is sacrilege. The death penalty in the case as long as one is found guilty is a very appropriate measure. Here it is not regarded as cruelty but a precedent.

I would love to talk to you again in my second chapter of the piece, Mrs. Amnesty campaigner for the abolition of the death penalty. For now we are mourning the murder in cold blood of our colleague Journalist, Ibrahim Foday, formerly of the Excusive Newspaper – a case still for this country’s Human Right Office to make a public comment. This is a serious abuse of the poor Journalist’s human right of existence.
