FCC Corruption – Le 300,000 not Le 3M…
Musicians have told the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) how the City Father, Mayor Herbert Williams, paid them Le300,000 and not Le 3 million for performing at the Morgan Heritage musical concert.
“We were told we will receive Le 3 million each after our performance at the concert,” furious musicians bewailed. “It was all a shock that Mayor Herbert turned round to disbursing meager Le 300.000 to us.”
The artists’ dispelled information to the ACC exposes touchy statements of City Council officials that Le 3 million was paid each to all 20 local musicians invited to perform at the Morgan Heritage musical concert past December.
Investigations have it that officials of City Council used tax payer’s and donors’ monies to organize the Morgan Heritage musical concert in a bid to make profit, but disappointingly converted proceeds to their use or benefits.
Sources say that the musical concert generated big profit for City Council.
That it was agreed between the City Mayor and the Morgan Heritage group to keep spectators from off the ‘stands’ at the national stadium, but allow them use the downstairs (field part) to make them feel and enjoy the concert.
To this, has been reason for the emptiness of ‘stands’ at the national stadium; and which unscrupulous City Council officials had taken to mean an unprofitable loss to the Morgan Heritage concert.
Eyewitnesses account articulate that City Council made a huge profit during the Morgan Heritage concert, but pretend the event was an utter failure and unprofitable loss of public finances.
The ACC which is now investigating the City Mayor and Council officials for corruption have had confessions from high placed musicians concerning the pittance paid to them for performing at the forenamed concert.
The exposed corruption intemperance of the Freetown Mayor seemed to sign post ACC’s unchanging strength of mind, guaranteeing that public officials face the wrath of the law when they go wrong.

Several allegations linking City Council officials into deep rooted corruption have made headlines on front pages of the local tabloids, on the lips of concern Sierra Leoneans, and finally, on the tables of the ACC.
It is a fact that even the tax payers, on several occasions, quizzically questioned Mayor Herbert’s uninterrupted collection of local taxes and the unfailing dumping of same into his and other pockets of ‘allayjos’ politicians.
Investigation also has it that City Council’s Chief Administrative officer, in 2010, swindled Le150 million in the semblance of holding a workshop at the Hill Top Guest House on Signal Hill Freetown.
Public’s concerns demand that the ACC reach its conclusion on the investigation of City Council’s administrative Chief with regard the Le150 million.
