Doctors challenged Zainab Bangura

The Minister of Health, Zainab Bangura (in photo), has been framed by doctors as seemingly diminishing efforts of government in the implementation of the existing ‘free health care’ for Sierra Leoneans countrywide.

Just recently, the Minister, novice to health issues, served three senior doctors and a matron of the Princess Christiana Maternity Hospital (PCMH) commonly called ‘Cottage,’ letters demanding that they proceed on leave unrestraint- with immediate effect.

The Minister’s action however magnifies disgruntlement in minds of medics at the Cottage hospital, who see such as undignified and may cause indifferences in the discharge of their duties.

The crux of the suspension, according to Cottage hospital sources, came owing to the death of a relative of the Minister of Health, who, until her death, has had treatments at the said hospital.

It is told that the doctors sent on ‘forced leave’ by Minister Zainab Bangura are seen as the axles that lay the way for the smooth and result making conducts of medics at Cottage hospital.

Inside Ministry of Health sources indicate that Minister Zainab has had strange relationship with experienced medical practitioners at the Ministry.

It could be recalled that appointed Minister of State Health, Mohamed Daudis Koroma, is reportedly sick and has had no time acting as a protector for his novice colleague Minister Zainab.

It is a fact that Mohamed Koroma has been a result making Minister and was at all times in good speaking terms with employees of Health Ministry.

Cottage hospital is seemingly in an indeterminate state owing to professed dictatorial tendencies of nobody but a state Minister.
