Formal launch of golden jubilee cleaning and beautification exercise
The 50th Independence Anniversary Committee, in collaboration with the Freetown City Council and AWOL (All Works of Life- development organization), will officially launch the Golden Jubilee National Cleaning and Beautification Project, and the Pride Month by AWOL, at the Brima Attouga Stadium in the east end of Freetown on Friday, 1st of April at 11 a.m. prompt.
The 50th Independence Anniversary Committee, the Freetown City Council and AWOL jointly decided to request His Excellency the President to grace the occasion and perform the launching, and he has consented to do so.
Following the launching, a national cleaning day will be declared and observed the next day, Saturday 2nd April, 2011, while 50th Independence Anniversary beautification exercise will begin on Monday 4rd April, 2011.
Given the importance of the cleaning and beautification exercise to the overall success of the 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations, the National Planning Committee, the Freetown City Council and AWOL are encouraging all Sierra Leoneans to support this campaign.
