Law Student Robs Eco Bank
A law student of Fourah Bay College (FBC) University of Sierra Leone is in the nets of the police for defrauding Eco Bank of Le7.5 million.
Sahr Jimmy, who claimed to be a law student at FBC yesterday found himself in the smelly Central Police Station cells for falsely receiving monies from coffers of Eco Bank.
Investigation reveals that Sahr, on a number of occasions, submitted fake cheques to counter hands of Eco Bank and monies were unconsciously and consequently transferred into his account.
Sahr is a member of Kono Student Union (KONSU) and an account holder at Eco Bank.
Facts have it that Sahr criminally deposited three cheques into his Eco Bank account and ended up withdrawing Le3.5 million even before having them verified.
That in totality, Sahr collected Le7.5 million owing to amount in the fake cheques he submitted.
Police sources say Sahr has made a confessional statement and may soon be charged to court for judicial findings.
