Nyantakyi, Kalusha to serve CAF
During the election conducted by the Confederation of African Football in the 33rd General Assembly in Khartoum Sudan on Wednesday 23 2011, the President of Ghana Football Association (GFA) Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi and the Zambia FA Boss Kalusha Bwalya was elected to serve on the CAF Executive Committee.
The GFA boss won the Zone West B elections with 34 votes defeating Anjorin Moucharafou of Benin who had 19 votes after Hima Souley of Niger and Tata Adaglo Avlessi of Togo pulled out of the race. While Zambia FA Boss topped Southern Zone with 38 votes.
Northern Zone Tarek Bouchamaoui (Tunisia) was elected unopposed, Zone West A, Almamy Kabele Camara (Guinea) also went unopposed. Central Africa Omari Constant (DR Congo) unopposed.
Tanzania Boss Leodegar Tenga won the Central-East Zone with securing 34 votes beating Celestin Musabyimana of Rwanda with 19 votes
Nyantakyi who was full of joy is now the fifth Ghanaian to serve on the CAF Executive Committee.
