Dr. Spencer To Take Citizen Radio to IMC
Dr. Julius Spencer last Thursday disclosed his intention of frog matching Citizen Radio and Punch Newspaper to the Independent Media Commission for publishing and airing libelous statements against him.
He made this disclosure at a press conference held at his office at No. 140 Circular Road Freetown.
“I have the intention to make a forward a formal complaint against The Punch Newspaper and Citizen Radio for saying things that were completely libelous of my person,” Dr. Spencer charged.
“If indeed I was involved in the eating of monies meant for public use, it is the responsibility of officials of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) to investigate and prosecute me.”
That David Tam Bayoh of Citizen Radio nakedly accused his company (Premier Media) of misappropriating monies it received from 50th anniversary secretariat.
Delivering a press statement, the Deputy Managing Director of Premier Media Consultancy, Desmond B Finny, said that the attention of his institution was drawn to the fact that David Tam Bayoh deliberately step up a campaign to vilify Premier Media using Citizen Radio, Star Radio and Eagle Radio as propaganda machineries.
“In December,” Desmond said, “Premier Media received a request for a proposal for event management of fire works display and a national parade from the procurement officer of 50th anniversary committee.”
Upon submission of the proposal, Premier Media was later invited to a meeting where two other agencies namely SL McCann and F&B Wedding were present.
That they were informed that the secretariat of 50th anniversary has decided to split up the contract based on the recommendation of its technical evaluation committee and procurement committee and that Premier Media would handle the general coordination while SL McCanne takes charge of the branding of the venue.
It is also told that F&B Weddings and Designs was made to handle decoration and catering.
It must be noted that Dr. Spencer recently submits a letter to the secretariat of 50th anniversary relinquishing his membership.
